The Education Department Faculty recently attended the MACTE (Minnesota Association of Colleges of Teacher Education) with funding from a mini-grant awarded by the Kendall Center. Debra Pitton, Dan Moos, Valerie Struthers Walker, Sidonia Alenuma-Nimoh, Katrina Imison-Mazy, Michele Koomen, Amy Vizenor and administrative assistant, Sandi Frances, spent October 28-29 in Minneapolis attending sessions focused on state educational issues, innovations in teacher education and changes regarding teacher licensing and testing. Dr. Pitton was elected to the PERCA review board (Program Effectiveness Report for Continuing Approval), where she will assist in the redesign of the system for approving licensure programs in Minnesota.
