Elizabeth Anderson ’15 Posted on December 5th, 2014 by

elizabethandersonTell us a little bit about yourself: My name is Elizabeth Anderson and I am a senior at Gustavus. I am originally from St. Peter and graduated from St. Peter High School in 2011. Growing up I was involved in swimming, speech, choir, band and 4-H. I also grew up on a seed corn farm just outside of St. Peter. My dad is a seed corn farmer and my mom is a preschool teacher in St. Peter. My brother, Justin, graduated from Gustavus in 2011. He is currently at the University of Minnesota getting his Ph.D. At Gustavus I am involved in Gustie Greeters, Gustavus Choir, Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority and the Student Educators Association.

Why did you choose Education? I chose education because I have a passion to make the world a better place. I have had a lot of experience working with kids because my mom is a teacher. I believe that I am truly myself when I am working with kids.

What are your career goals or plans after graduation? After graduation I plan to be a elementary school teacher somewhere in Minnesota. I am applying all around the state. For my first years of teaching I would love to teach in the metropolitan area. Later in life I would love to have a job in a small town in Northern Minnesota.
