Major: Elementary Education
What have you been doing since graduation, e.g. employment, education, family, etc., and any future goals. I was lucky enough to snag a position in the same Shakopee elementary school I did my student teaching at through Gustavus. Since then, I’ve taught first grade, second grade, and fifth grade. Last year, I was a half time third grade teacher and half time literacy coach. This year, I am a full time instructional coach and I’m loving it! I get to support teachers and teach students in all different grade levels every day. I’ve become obsessed with being a lifelong learner, too. I received my Master’s of Teaching & Learning from Saint Mary’s in 2010. I am currently set to graduate this coming spring with a Master’s of Literacy Education from Hamline. I am so thankful to my education professors at Gustavus for instilling this lifelong learner habit in me!
