Jaime Quam WinchellMajor: K-6 Elementary Education, 5-8 Math, with a Coaching Minor

What have you been doing since graduation, e.g. employment, education, family, etc., and any future goals.  I started my career teaching Kindergarten at Goodhue Elementary School. I then worked for the Goodhue Education District as a contracted substitute for Preschools, Level 3, 4 & 5 SPED programs around the county. Following that, I started teaching 4th grade at Cannon Falls Elementary School and did so for five years, then 2nd grade for 2 years, and then was the District Assessment Coordinator and part-time RtI lead for 2 years. Currently I am full-time lead RtI specialist, as well as Staff Development Co-Chair, PLC Facilitator/Coordinator, and Curriculum Chair. I also spend my “spare” time coaching the JV and youth volleyball and basketball teams. I received my Master’s Degree in Education from Saint Mary’s University in 2009 and will have my K-12 principal’s license from SMU this summer. At this time I hope to be an assistant principal, DAC, or curriculum coordinator somewhere next school year. My family and I live in Cannon Falls, MN. My husband, Aaron, is a computer draftsman in Burnsville, and my three children Jaci (11), Jadan (9.5), and Karsyn (7) attend Cannon Falls Elementary. I love the fact that I can be a part of my children’s education at so many different levels!
