Dr. Sidonia Alenuma-Nimoh, published a journal article, entitled: “Reexamining the Concept Multicultural Education: Recommendations for Moving Beyond Eating the Other Multiculturalism”. The article in part discussed the pervasive nature of “Eating the Other Multiculturalism” (ETOM) and made suggestions/recommendations for moving beyond multicultural pot-locks and cultural celebrations to insisting on equity and social justice endeavors that require entire school members working hand in hand to ensure that all students are learning and attaining their full potential. It is suggested that educators be committed to creating schools and classroom cultures that are inclusive and effective rather than always falling short of being places where dreams and the power of education are fulfilled for the better of ALL individual students and the society at large. The article was published in the Journal of Intercultural Disciplines, in volume XV, Spring 2016.
